Roswell Hart was a town supervisor in Gates, New York, serving in 1817. Family & Genealogy
Married in 1809 to Eliza Pixley Hart. Their children:- Roswell Hart (B. 1824– D. 1883) became a U.S. Representative from New York for the 39th Congress (1865–1867). He also went on to be the superintendent of the Railway Mail Service for the States of New York and Pennsylvania, (1869-76).
- Charlotte Hart Cuming (B. 1810– D. 1885), She became the second wife of Rev. Francis H. Cuming, D.D. in 1830.
