Description
This 64-page book originally published in 2017 tells with photos and stories recalling days prior to post-war (WW2) suburbanization when Greece was largely agricultural.
At least seven of the 60 barns pictured in the book have since been demolished, with more threatened by lack of attention and lack of resources for upkeep.
Author Jane Grant began photographing existing barns and interviewing their owners. A large display of her photos and stories about the barns was featured at the museum in 2017. The best part of the project, says Jane, “was meeting delightful people who graciously shared their stories. Many of them were from the farming families who built our town’s reputation for quality garden produce and fruit, and who also contributed to community life in varied ways.”
