What were people cooking and eating in the American past? In this 2-hour gathering, we will look back at some of the foods and food preparations occurring in American kitchens in the colonial and post-1776 eras. We will sip some Liberty Tea and sample dishes made by our forebears. There will be hands-on activities, too, and an opportunity to browse old cookbooks. Please bring your treasured cookbook(s) to share with attendees. It will be fun to revisit old recipes, whether they are from the 18th century or the 1950s! There will be a prize for the cookbook with the oldest publication date!
This event is organized and conducted by former Greece teachers Kathy Firkins and Jane Grant.
Registration is limited to 15 participants. Cost is $5.00 for members, $10.00 for non-members.
