May 10, 2022(1 event) 7:00 pm: Up Close with Two Greece Pioneer Families – Tuesday, May 10, 7:00 p.m. at the Greece Public Library Come meet descendants of two early Greece settlers - the Volkmar and Cole/Kenyon families. Join Jo Ann Ward Snyder and Marie Poinan to hear how they interviewed these family members when researching their book- Pioneer Families of the Town of Greece. Marie and Jo Ann will show how community engagement helped us collect and preserve the stories of our town’s pioneer families. Learn how these descendants became interested in tracing their families’ history and came to the Greece Historical Society to have their stories preserved in our Bicentennial pioneer book. Feel free to bring your copy in to be autographed by the authors after the presentation. May 22, 2022(2 events) 1:30 pm: MUSEUM OPEN – 2:00 pm: Grandfather Stories – Grandfather Stories by David Kunz. Sunday, May 22 - 2:00 p.m. at the Greece Museum, 595 Long Pond Road. Dave’s stories feature some of the great narrative poetry that entertained our grandparents, as well as tall tales, personal stories, and adaptations of favorite short stories. Adults and children of all ages will enjoy Dave’s unique point of view and the entertaining twists of plots and characters that characterize his storytelling. |
