Joe Territo will discuss the evolution of our national pastime from the 19th and into the first part of the 20th century. This was a period of rapid change for baseball as it moved from a game played by children to a popular adult club sport. An interesting Rochester connection to the dawn of baseball will also be revealed. This presentation will also include a display of authentic baseball artifacts to help demonstrate the role equipment played in the early game’s development.
Joe Territo is a Town of Greece resident who serves as President of the Rochester Baseball Historical Society. He is also the team photographer for the Rochester Red Wings.
