Blanche Stuart Scott: America’s First Aviatrix by Maureen Whalen

October 10, 2017

Blanche Stuart Scott, who was born in Greece, was a pioneer in the automotive and aviation industries.   In September 1910, only weeks after completing a cross-county drive through the United States, she became the first American woman to fly an airplane.

Come “meet” this fascinating woman and hear in her own words about her flying adventures. Maureen Whalen will be interpreting Blanche in this program based on recordings of interviews with Blanche and excerpts from her unpublished autobiography.
