James Hard, Last Civil War Combat Veteran by David Crumb

David Crumb will share the fascinating story of the longest living Civil War combat veteran, James Hard. James A. Hard was born at Victor, NY on July 15, 1841. In 1862 he fought in may battles of the Civil War in Virginia, as well as Antietam Maryland, In 1863 he took part in battles of Fredericksburg, Franklin's Crossing, Mary's Heights and Salem Church. He settled in Rochester in 1882, which remained his permanent home until his death on March 12, 1953. Hard was a Rochester icon through the 1940's and early 1950's.
